Vocal concert at Ganabharathi

Mysore/Mysuru: Ganabharathi has organised a music concert in memory of Sri Desiraju Venkata Narasimha Rao and Smt. Tripura Sundaramma at Veene Seshanna Bhavana, Kuvempunagar, tomorrow (Feb. 20) at 6 pm.

Vidu. Kamala Deepthi will present a vocal concert accompanied by Vidu. C.V. Shruthi on violin, Vid. Nandan Kashyap on mridanga and Vid. Harish  Chandra on kanjira.

Profile: Vidu. Kamala Deepthi had her initial training in Karnatak Music from Pappu Padma Ravi Shankar. Later, she learnt from the eminent musician Dr. Pantula Rama. Presently, she is                                          under the tutelage of the legendary musician Padma Bhushan, Sangeetha Kalanidhi Madurai T.N. Seshagopalan.

She is a young and promising Karnatak vocalist with high calibre known for lengthy breathtaking phrases while singing Raga Alapana and calculations with contrasting laya patterns while singing Swara Kalpana, both hallmark of her guru Seshagopalan’s style of singing.

She has won many prizes and awards from organisations across India  and received critical acclaim for her concerts from stalwarts.
