Vocal concert at Ganabharathi tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: Ganabharathi has organised a Karnatak vocal recital by a promising vocalist Vid. Manoj Chintanapalli at its VeeneSeshannaBhavan in Kuvempunagar on May 29 at 6 pm.

This event is sponsored by Punarvasu Family members in memory of B.N. RamanujaIyengar.

Vid. Manoj will be accompanied by Vid. AmoghNadadur on violin and Vid. VikramBharadwaj on mridanga.

Artistes’ profile

Vidwan Manoj Chintanapalli: Belonging to the renowned Chintanapalli musical lineage, he is the grandson of KalabhushanaVidwan G. Hanumantha Bhat. Following the musical tradition of the Gudibande Brothers, he is a disciple of his mother, Dr.RajalakshmiSudhindra and VidwanAchyutarao.

He secured 3rd rank in the Vidwat examination for vocal music. He holds an M.A. in Music from Madras University and a degree in Electronics Engineering.

He won the late Vidwan Bellary Venkateshachar Memorial Award from the Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha in Mysuru and performed there.

He has also performed at the GanakalaParishat, Sri Tyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha and RamasevaMandali.

VidwanAmoghNadadur: He learnt music under the tutelage of the famous guru couple of Mysuru, Vidwan H.K. Narasimhamurthy and his wife. He is emerging as a promising artiste, having performed in Solo, Duet and Violin Trio concerts. He has played the violin in Chennai, Thiruvaiyaru, Guruvayur and various other assemblies across the region.

VidwanVikramBharadwaj: Having received his initial training under Vidwan PGL, he later studied under Vidwan Ramesh and is currently learning from VidwanTumkur B. Ravishankar.

He is one of the few young artistes showing great promise in rhythm instruments (percussion).
