Vocal concert at Mysore Vasudevacharya’s house 

Mysuru: Vidu. H.N. Kamala Murthy, a senior musician and teacher from Bengaluru, will be presenting a vocal concert at the former residence of Mysore Vasudevacharya in city tomorrow (June 28). 

She will be accompanied by Vid. M.N. Sathyanarayana on violin and  Vid. N. Gurumurthy on mridanga. The concert, starting at 10.30 am, is open to all music enthusiasts.  

Profiles 

Vidu. Kamala has learnt Karnatak music under Vidu. Hemalatha Sampath and under the renowned vocalist Vidu. R.A. Ramamani. She has also been trained in Hindusthani by Pandit Ganapathi Hegade of Yellapur. She has been performing concerts across Karnataka and has presented many thematic concerts, particularly on the compositions of Mysore Composers. She has successfully accomplished a project on preparation of syllabus for Karnatak Classical Music for ‘Dhruva Arts Foundation,’ London and a project on Haridasa’s compositions ‘Dasaru Kanda Krishna.’ She has been   imparting vocal training to students at all levels. 

Vid. Sathyanarayana, a disciple of Vid. S.V. Ananth of Bengaluru, has been performing violin solo concerts and accompanying senior artistes, for over a decade in sabhas and temples across Karnataka and Andhra.   

Vid. Gurumurthy, trained under the senior performing mridangist Vid. C. Cheluvaraju, is an A-grade Ghata artiste of Akashvani. He has a concert experience of about two decades, accompanying performers at all levels.
