Vocal concert to mark Jayachamaraja Wadiyar birth anniversary in city on July 18

Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Krishna Gana Sabha will be celebrating the 104th birth anniversary of Sri Jayachamaraja Wadiyar on July 18 at 6 pm at Alwar Kala Bhavan in Gokulam III Stage.                              

MLA L. Nagendra will inaugurate the celebrations. V.N. Mallikarjunaswamy, Jt. Director, Kannada and Culture Department, will be the chief guest. Corporator S.B.M. Manju and Dr. M.D. Sudarshan, Assistant  Director, Kannada and Culture, will be the special invitees. Sabha President B.S. Sridhara Raje Urs will preside.

On the occasion, a grand vocal music concert  will be presented by Ganakalabhushana Dr. R.K. Padmanabha. He will be accompanied by Vid. C.N. Chandrashekar on violin, Vid. Cheluvaraju on mridanga and Vid. G.S. Ramanujam on ghatam.

Profile: A stalwart and a Nadopasaka, Ganakalabhushana Vidwan Dr. Rudrapatna  Krishnadikshita  Padmanabha, who traces his roots back to the town of Rudrapatna, undoubtedly has emerged as one of the most sought after musicians today.

Having blessed by the great Vadiraja Swami (pontiff of Sonda Mutt), he stands as a musician with a unique identity. His vibrant and mesmerising voice, unrivalled rendition of ragas, krithis, pallavis and swara sancharas add to the beauty of his music, which is a perfect blend of emotive appeal, incredible virtuosity, technical mastery, sophistication and divinity.
