Mysuru: Dr. Pavithra Roopesh, an established vocalist from Puttur, will be presenting a vocal concert at the residence of Mysore Vasudevacharya in city tomorrow (Aug. 30) at 10.30 am.
She will be accompanied by Vid. H.S. Thandavamurthy on violin, Vid. M.R. Manjunatha on mridanga, Vid. M.R. Chandrashekar on ghata and Vid. R. Raveendra on tambura. The concert is open to all.

Dr. Pavithra has learnt under many eminent vocalists including Vidu. Shakunthala Bhat of Puttur, Vidu. M.S. Vidya and Vid. Madhur P. Balasubrahamanyam. Currently a disciple of Dr. Mullaivassal Chandramouli of Chennai, she has been awarded the Central Govt’s CCRT Music Scholarship and has completed the Vidwat level exam of Karnataka State Board.
A graded artiste of Akashvani, she has been performing regularly at various festivals in the Mangaluru region and in various temples across the State.
Vid. Thandavamurthy, a disciple of Vid. H.K. Narasimhamurthy, is a graded artiste of Akashvani and has been accompanying senior artistes for over four decades. He has played for Bharatanatyam programmes by senior dancers all over the country and overseas and has participated in Jugalbandi concerts.
Vid. Manjunatha and Vid. Chandrashekar, both sons and disciples of Vid. M.R. Rajappa, are senior percussionists with nearly five decades of stage experience. Vid. Manjunatha, a B-High artiste of Akashvani, serves as Asthana Vidwan of Sri Ganapathy Ashram in city.
