Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha Charitable Trust, Mysuru, will be presenting vocal concerts by two upcoming vocalists Vidu. Mahatee Raghuram and Vidu. Manya Manjunath at 6 pm and 7.15 pm respectively, on Sunday (Dec.18) at Sri Rama Mandira in Jayanagar here.
Vidu. Mahatee Raghuram, granddaughter of renowned flautist Vid. V. Desikachar, studied classical music from senior musician Vidu. Dr. R.N. Sreelatha and has bagged several awards such as ‘Nadasurabhi’, ‘Kala Sourabha’, ‘Reva Idol’ and ‘The Hindu Margazhi award’ etc. Vidu. Manya Manjunath also inherits a musical lineage from her mother, Vidu. Meera Manjunath, a vocalist and veena artiste. She is the disciple of senior music guru, Vidu. Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar, Vidu. Dr. Sumana Vedanth and Vid. H.K. Narasimhamurthy. She has secured many awards in music including ‘Kalashree’ from Balabhavan, scholarships from Karnataka Sangeetha Nritya Academy and D. Subbaramaiah Trust, Bengaluru.
Both the vocalists will be supported on violin by Vid. Amogh Nadadur and on mridanga by Vid. S. Kumaraswamy.
