Sir,

This refers to the article titled ‘Political Leadership and State’s Prosperity’ published in Star of Mysore on Saturday last under Black & White column.

In his article, columnist Vikram Muthanna refers to a mobile phone company that had approached the previous Karnataka Government for land to set up a manufacturing unit. Since I had heard of this episode, I would like to share it with your readers:

The Chief Minister, while outright refusing to give any concession, the CEO had told him about the offer he had from Andhra Pradesh. The response was on these lines: “Bengaluru has very good climate and vastu for industries. Which is why everybody wants to come here no matter what it costs. When you want to give your daughter in marriage to a good, rich boy, will you not choose a boy from Bengaluru? Do you care spending more on her wedding?”

Of course, he said this with a sly smile. But the industrialist got nothing and wisely shifted to Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh where he is prospering —vastu or no vastu.
