Voter Awareness: Six ‘Selfie Zones’ set up at Mysuru Zoo

Mysuru: In a bid to create voter awareness, the District SVEEP Committee in association with Mysuru Zoo and District Administration, has set up Selfie Zones at six locations in Mysuru Zoo including  Karanji Lake.

The six locations where Selfie Zones are set up are at the Zoo’s main entrance, elephant view point, Indian  Gaur enclosure, Tiger enclosure, Food Kourt and inside Karanji Lake, where visitor can take selfies with pictures and caricatures of different animals that are placed at the spot.

The Selfie Zones will be in existence till the LS Polls are over.

Speaking to press persons on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G. Sankar said that the SVEEP Committee, as part of its continuous campaign for voter awareness focusing on the need for every eligible voter to exercise his/ her franchise, has launched the Selfie Zones.

Pointing out that thousands of people visit the Zoo and Karanji Lake every day, the DC expressed hope that such campaigns will sensitise the public on their right and duty to cast their vote and thus strengthen the democratic set up.

Zilla Panchayat (ZP) CEO K. Jyothi, Mysuru Zoo Executive Director Ajit M. Kulkarni and other officials were present during the launch.
