Mysore/Mysuru: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the schedule of revision of electoral roll (voters list) along with photographs, with reference to Jan. 1, 2025 as qualifying date.
Beginning from Aug. 20 to Oct. 18, 2024, the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will visit the houses and rectify the errors related to polling stations and the voter list. If required, the low quality photos will be replaced with better quality pictures, along with correcting the part numbers and roll numbers, identifying the errors by finalising the mode of execution and time schedule.
During the processes preceding the updating of voter list, all BLOs in the State will go on door-to-door verification. The public may opt for any of the services related to claims and objections, requesting for corrections, enrolment of name, removal of names of the dead and transferred voters and inclusion of names of new voters, who will be turning 18 years on the forthcoming qualifying date, according to the Office of Chief Electoral Officer.
While submitting Forms 6 and 8, the public can voluntarily submit their Aadhaar card numbers. The public can directly submit their applications through Voter Helpline Application, on their mobile phone for election related services.
From Oct. 19 to 28, 2024, Forms 1 and 8 will be prepared and the complete draft list will be readied with reference to qualifying date of Jan. 1, 2025.
From Oct.29, 2024, the complete draft voter list will be announced and the public can file their claims and objections if any related to errors, between Oct. 29 and Nov. 28, 2024. During the period of claims and objections, the schedule of special drives on Saturdays and Sundays, drafted by Chief Electoral Officer will be announced soon.
The queries related to claims and objections shall be disposed by Dec. 24, 2024, followed by verifying the quality of electoral roll, seeking approval of Election Commission of India for final publication of the list, updating the software and publication of supplementary list by Jan. 1, 2025. The final voter list will be announced on Jan. 6, 2025, added the Chief Electoral Officer.
