VTU Inter-Collegiate Mysuru Division Men’s Volleyball Championship: NIE emerges champions

Mysuru: National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru won the VTU Inter-collegiate Mysuru Division Men’s Volleyball Championship organised by ATME College at its premises in city recently.

NIE, Mysuru defeated Maharaja Institute of Technology (MIT), Mysuru in the finals to emerge as champions.

In the first semi-finals, NIE, Mysuru defeated VVCE, Mysuru to advance to the finals and MIT, Mysuru overpowered PESCE, Mandya to enter the final.

The final match between NIE, Mysuru and MIT, Mysuru was highly competitive, with both teams displaying excellent volleyball skills. After an intense contest, NIE, Mysuru  was able to emerge victorious to be crowned as champions of the VTU Mysuru Division Men’s Volleyball Championship 2026-27.

A total of 16 teams from across the Mysuru Division, comprising of Mysuru, Kodagu, Chamarajanagar, Mandya and Ramanagara, participated in the championship. 

Earlier, the championship was inaugurated by former Indian volleyball player Vinod Madegowda.  ATME Principal Dr. L. Basavaraj, Administrative Officer Dr. Sachidanadha Murthy, Sports Committee Chairman Dr. K. Srinivasa, VTU Sports Coordinator Dr. H.C. Sudhina, and Tournament Convenor Dr. M.P. Muralidhar were present.

As part of the championship tradition, individual awards were presented to outstanding players in – Best Setter, Best Attacker, and Best All-Round Player of the Tournament categories.
