Walkathon as part of Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary held in city

Mysore/Mysuru: Samartha Bharata, as part of Swami Vivekananda’s 158th birth anniversary, had organised a walkathon with the theme ‘Be Good—Do Good’ in city this morning.

More than 200 persons took part in the walkathon, which was flagged off by City BJP President P.S. Srivatsa in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple at 6 am.

The participants, shouting “Be Good—Do Good,” passed through City Bus Stand, Mysuru City Corporation Office on Sayyaji Rao Road, Gun House Circle, Hardinge Circle, Albert Victor Road and culminated at Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple, where RSS Pracharak Gurudutt, Mysore Paints and Varnish Limited  Chairman N.V. Phaneesh and City BJP President P.S. Srivatsa spoke about Swami Vivekananda and called upon everyone to follow his teachings.

Samartha Bharata Convenor M.J. Kiran Gowda, Co-Convenors Karthik and Harshith, Corporators M.U. Subbaiah, B.V. Manjunath and Prameela Bharat, Renuka, Gokul Govardhan, Madhu Prasad, Sachin, Madhu Gowda, Lohith Kumar and others took part in the walkathon.
