Walkathons to mark Diabetes and Children’s Day tomorrow

Mysuru: As part of World Diabetes Day, Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre on Gokulam Road in V.V. Mohalla, has organised a Walkathon and a free diabetes check-up camp tomorrow in city.

The Walkathon will commence at 7 am from Cheluvamba Park  in Yadavagiri and conclude at Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Centre. The free check up camp will be held from 8 am to 5 pm at the Centre.

More than 500 participants are expected to take part in the Walkathon which will be flagged off by MLA L. Nagendra in the presence of Corporator SBM Manju, MDJA President C.K. Mahendra, N. Raghavan of Raghulal and Co, Hotel Owners Association President C. Narayana Gowda, RBI Manager Ramesh Kumar and others.

Children’s Day

As part of Children’s Day, St. Thomas Institutions, Vishweshwaranagar, Mysuru, has organised a Walkathon tomorrow at 6.30 am.

MLA S.A. Ramdas will flag off the Walkathon from the school premises. Manager of St. Thomas Institutions Rev. Prakash Abraham will preside. Mysuru South Block Education Officer Shivakumar, Corporators Shobha Suneel and Bhuvaneshwari Prabhumurthy, Mar Thoma Education Society Secretary Sam Cherian Kumbukattu and Treasurer Ebby Eapen will be present as guests of honour.

Kautilya Vidyalaya

Kautilya Vidyalaya at Kanakadasanagar will also be celebrating Children’s Day at its premises from 9 am to 4 pm tomorrow.

Unique programmes such as pen-stand making, pot decoration, face-painting, tattoo, mehendi and cooking have been organised. 

Essay and Painting competition

Bhima Jewels on B.N. Road near Suburban Bus Stand has organised essay and drawing-painting competition for students from 5th to 7th standard at 10.30 am tomorrow at its premises in city.

The topic for essay is ‘Climate Change’ and the topic for drawing contest is ‘Village Life.’ Drawing sheets and white sheets will be provided by the organisers and the students have to bring their own brushes, colours, pens and cardboard sheets.

Prizes will be given to the first three winners and all participants will be given certificates. Interested should register their names before 10 am on Nov. 14.
