Ward-level COVID Task Force launched in Ward No. 36

Mysore/Mysuru: Setting in motion the COVID-19 Ward-level Task Force initiative, Mayor Rukmini Madegowda and MCC Commissioner Shilpa Nag launched Ward No. 36 (Yeraganahalli) Task Force at the Government Higher Primary School in Yeraganahalli on Wednesday.

Ward No. 36 is represented by Mayor Rukmini Madegowda of JD(S). The Task force is headed by her and has the ward’s Health Inspector, Zonal Assistant Commissioner, Revenue Inspector, Environmental officer, ASHA workers, local NGOs, Doctors and N.R. Constituency Nodal Officer Hemanth Kumar as members.

Speaking after the launch, MCC Commissioner Shilpa Nag explained the idea behind the formation of Ward-level Task Force to check the spread of the deadly pandemic. Pointing out that the Task Force will identify symptomatic persons and his/her contacts and advise them to undergo home isolation, she said that such persons will be given medical kits. Also, persons who test positive for the virus, will get access to doctor consultation through Telecare. Besides, based on doctor’s prescription, medicines will be supplied and confidence will be instilled in them, she said and added that vaccination of people coming under the Ward too is one of the main agendas of the Task Force.

Pointing out that the Task Force will help critical COVID patients in getting treatment at designated Government Hospitals with help from COVID War Room, she said that it is important to ensure that patients get timely and proper medical attention.

Several members of the Task Force came up with their own useful suggestions on how to effectively tackle the deadly pandemic in areas coming under the Ward.

Mayor Rukmini Madegowda appealed all the members to work in unison and with total dedication and commitment for checking the spread of the virus. 

MCC Commissioner Shilpa Nag promised all official help to the Task Force.
