May 8, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: Day by day, positive cases in the district are increasing drastically. In an effort to combat the pandemic in an effective way, Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner has decided to constitute Ward Task Forces for micro-level work.

Each Ward-level Task Force will be headed by the Corporator and would consist of a Medical Officer from Primary Health Centre or a private doctor from the ward, an assistant, junior engineer, Revenue Inspector, a staff member from Police Department, ASHA workers as well as a person representing Non-Governmental Organisation.

Earlier, MCC in its budget had sanctioned Rs. 5 lakh for each ward to effectively contain the second wave of COVID-19. As a first step, it has now released Rs. 1 lakh during the advisory committee meeting which was recently held on May 5 under the Chairmanship of Mayor. This amount will be utilised for medical expenses after getting approval from the committee, according to a release.
