Water leakage: Residents vent out their ire against official apathy

Venting out their ire against the apathy of officials who have failed to repair the damaged pipeline along Chamundi Vihar Stadium, which has been leaking for over 3 months, local residents led by BJP leader and Kautilya Educational Institutions Chairman R. Raghu, staged a demonstration near the spot on Monday urging the authorities to act swiftly and stop water leakage.

Alleging that no officials visited the spot for an inspection, the protestors wanted the authorities to fix the problem at the earliest.

Meanwhile, Vani Vilas Water Works (VVWW) Executive Engineer L.N. Anand said that the MCC was in no way concerned with the problem.

The Chamundi Vihar Stadium authorities have dug an exclusive borewell and water has been leaking from this borewell. Assistant Engineer Manjunath and staff who rushed  to the spot, met the stadium authorities, who were instructed to fix the issue.

The Department of Youth Services and Sports Assistant Director Suresh too has been directed to fix the issue, he said and expressed hope that the leakage will be plugged in a couple of days.
