Water pipe breaks open near Chamarajapuram under-bridge

Swift action by MCC, MUDA and VVWW teams

Mysore/Mysuru: A water pipeline burst open near the Chamarajapuram Railway Under-bridge yesterday and drinking water jumped up like a spring, attracting a group of onlookers who were taking photos and shooting videos.

The flow right in the middle of the busy road started slowly and onlookers thought that it was a minor pipeline break. Soon, a huge quantity of water poured out and many people clicked selfies seeing clear white water springing on the road. As vehicles stopped by there were traffic bottlenecks.

Responding immediately after getting information about the pipe break, teams from Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) and Vani Vilas Water Works (VVWW) arrived at the spot and first disconnected the water line, dug pits and repaired the broken pipeline.

MUDA Executive Engineer Suvarna, Assistant Executive Engineer Ashwin and Water Inspector Rajesh led the repair operation. Their swift action earned praise from the public.
