Water plus certification: MCC invites public opinion

Mysore/Mysuru: For getting the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) water plus certification this year, the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has sought public objections and comments. Public can send in their objections and opinions by 15 days, says a press release from the Civic Body.

A city or a Ward can be declared as water plus provided all wastewater released from households, commercial establishments, and drains is treated to a satisfactory level (as per Central Pollution Control Board norms), before releasing it into the environment.

Further, adequate capacity of wastewater and sewage treatment facilities is to be ensured. The infrastructure should be maintained properly and cost recovery ensured through reuse/ recycling of treated wastewater to ensure sustainability.

Seven-star of the rating

Mysuru has geared up for seven-star rating in garbage-free city category under the next Swachh Survekshan and has invited objections and suggestions from public. The public has been given 15 days to file objections and suggestions with MCC.
