Mysuru: The Cake Festival (Le Fete de December) organised by Aroma — the baking arm of Loyal World Group (Bakers since 1989) — was inaugurated at Loyal World, V.V. Mohalla branch, last evening by Chamraja MLA Vasu.
As is the tradition at Aroma every December, they challenge themselves in making a masterpiece cake that the Mysureans can go and have a look.
This year, a team comprising of seven head chefs from Aroma have prepared a special cake — ‘The Wedding Gown’ inspired by the award-winning designer MakTumang’s work, which is at display at the V.V. Mohalla branch. The head patissiers took 10 days to complete the cake, which is 162 kg in weight, 7 feet high and 3 feet wide.
The 15 days of extravaganza (Dec.18 to Jan.1) of cakes, Pastries and bakery items will enrich the taste buds of Mysureans as Aroma will be serving special delicacies on each day of the fest. The fest begins at 10 am at all the venues — Loyal World Supermarket (V.V. Mohala, Bannimantap, Infosys, T.K. Layout, Kuvempunagar), Loyal World Market (Mall of Mysore), Aroma Lounge (Bogadi Road, Hebbal Industrial Area) and at Gayathri Bhavan building, Dhanvantri Road.
The special delicacies for today include Doughnuts, Danish, Croissants and Cinnamon Roll; while Brioche, Ginger Bread, Swirl Bread, Pandora Bread and Almond Bread will be the special items for tomorrow.
