Mysore/Mysuru: Following the heat condition, the weeds and shrubs that had grown outside the precincts of Mysore Palace caught fire on Friday.

The patch of grass that had gone dry at the area abutting the Palace fort at the eastern side near Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Circle (Hardinge Circle) was gutted in the fire mishap, triggering anxious moments for sometime. Learning about the incident, the Fire and Emergency Services Department personnel rushed to the spot and extinguished the flame, preventing the fire from engulfing neighbouring areas.

Krishnaraja (KR) Police personnel also assisted the Firemen in dousing the fire, it is said.
