Week-long State-level FDP on ‘Cyber Security and Digital Forensics’ held

Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, ATME College of Engineering, Mysuru, had organised a week-long State-level Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Cyber Security and Digital Forensics” at its premises recently.

Dr. A.M. Sudhakara, Director, Pas3cyberlabs, Mysuru, spoke about the Emerging Trends in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics with various case studies of Ransomware attack on supply chain and healthcare sector.                                         

Mahesh Vastrad, Founder and MD of Agamya Infotech, Dharwad, conducted practical hands-on Network Security, Port Scanning, Exploitation, Tools on Nmap and Metasploit Framework and also shared valuable insights into ADB, SQLite DB, Genny Motion and more.

Dr. M.R. Lokesh, Professor, VCET, Puttur, spoke about the significance of Block Chain in Cyber and Digital Forensics.

Dr. Chennamma, Associate Professor, JSS STU, Mysuru, who spoke about Digital Imaging Forensics, also briefed about the tools that helps in detecting true images and forged images from the tools such as JPEG swoop, Foto Forensics, Tin eye.

Dr. K.T. Veeramanju, Director, Pas3cyberlabs, shared expertise in Digital Forensics and Mobile Forensics and  gave insights about advance features of mobile data recovering.

Dr. S.P. Shivaprakash, Professor, JSS STU, shared insights about IoT, on various possible IoT attacks besides sharing IoT security tools such as Armis, Fore scout, Zing box, Mucana etc.

Awareness on concurrent cyber security challenges and hands-on training on Forensic Tools was created to participants from various institutions across the State.
