Mysore/Mysuru: Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha has organised weekend programmes on June 18 and 19 as part of T.V. Srinivasan Memorial Concert sponsored by Smt. and Sri Nagarajan Srinivasan.
June 18 at 6 pm: Vidushi Kalavati Avadhoot will present vocal concert accompanied Vidu. Sindhu Suchetan – violin, Vid. Anoor Vinod Sharma – mridanga and Vid. Sunad Anoor – khanjira.
Daughter of Vid. Bangalore K. Venkataram and Vidu. G.R. Jaya, Kalavati has a natural bond with music since her childhood. A Gold Medallist in M.Music, she was under the tutelage of Vidu. Ushachar and Vid. Anoor Ramakrishna and then under Vidu. Seethalakshmi Venkateshan and P.S. Narayanaswamy of Chennai.
June 19 at 6 pm: Vid. S. R. Vinay will give a vocal concert accompanied by Anirudh Bharadwaj – violin, R. Adamya Ramanand – mridanga and R. Srinidhi Kaundinya – ghata. Merging melody and rhythm is not an easy task. And, Karnatak classical music being rhythmically intensive demands a strong command on the subject. Vinay, who has mastered the intricacies of classical music, was tutored by his mother and later by Seetha Lakshmi, Lalitha Chandramouli and Vid. R.K. Padmanabha.
