Weekend music concerts at Krishna Gana Sabha

Sri Krishna Gana Sabha has arranged  Hindustani music concert by Dr. M.S. Bhaskar on Saturday (July 21) at 6 pm at Alwar Kala Bhavan, Srikrishna Temple premises, Gokulam 3rd Stage. The accompanying artistes are Pandit Veerabhadraiah Hiremutt on harmonium  and Pandit Ramesh Dhannur on tabla.

Profile: Dr. Bhaskar is a reputed Neuro-surgeon. Though he was exposed to music during childhood, he developed keen interest  to learn music while studying Medicine. He came in contact with Pandit late Rama Rao Naik of Agra Gharana, from whom he learnt Hindustani music. After the demise of his Guruji, he continued his learning from late Lalitha Ramanujam. Currently, he is taking advanced training from  Pandit Indudar Nirodi and promoting Hindustani music through his Swara Sankula Sangeetha Sabha.

A Karnatak music recital by Vidushi Ambhujavalli will be held on Sunday (July 22) at 6 pm at Alwar Kala Bhavan. She will be accompanied by Vid. Amogha  Nadadur on violin and Vid.Vikram Bharadwaj on mridanga.

Profile: Ambhujavalli has  been learning Karnatak music  since the age of 6. She learnt basics from Savitramma Govinda Rao and  later by Vani. She then continued under Dr. R.N. Srilatha and is now preparing to take up Vidwat.
