Mysore/Mysuru: The heritage house of Mysore Vasudevacharya in city will be hosting two music concerts during this weekend.
Vidu. Neyveli Rajalakshmi Deepak will present a Vocal Concert on Saturday (Mar. 18) between 4 and 6 pm. She will be accompanied by Vid. Rupanagudi Ratnateja on violin and Vid. G.T. Swamy on mridanga.
Vid. J.T. Jeyaraaj Krishnan and Vidu. Jaysri Jeyaraaj Krishnan from Chennai will perform a Veena Duet on Sunday (Mar. 19). They will be accompanied by Vid. A. Radhesh on mridanga and Vid. S. Manjunath on ghata. This full-length concert is scheduled to start at 10.30 am.
Vidu. Neyveli Rajalakshmi is a disciple of Tamizhisai Mamani Lalitha Sivakumar from the D.K. Pattammal School of Music. Rajalakshmi, a recipient of ‘Kalai Ilamani’ award from Government of Tamil Nadu, is currently pursuing Ph.D at Madras Sanskrit College and is working on Muthuswami Dikshitar kritis. An AIR graded artiste, she is performing all over India for past 12 years.
Vid. Jeyaraaj and Vidu. Jaysri are amongst the leading Veena players in the nation, propagating the ‘Gayaki’ style of playing. A-Top graded Veena artistes of AIR Chennai, this husband and wife team has regaled audiences in India and abroad. Jeyaraaj and Jaysri belong to the direct Shishya Parampara of Nadajyoti Muthuswami Dikshitar, who is one among the famous Trinity of Karnatak Music.
