Weekend plays ‘Venisamhara’ and ‘Shikari’ at Rangayana

Mysuru: Theatre buffs will have great time to spend at Rangayana this weekend (Dec. 9 and Dec. 10) as two back to back plays will be staged at Bhoomigeetha.

The students of Bharathiya Ranga Shikshana Kendra will stage the play ‘Venisamhara’ at 6.30 pm today (Dec. 9). The play, authored by Bhattanarayana, is directed by Saliyana Umesh Narayana. Rangayana senior designer H.K. Dwarkanath has designed the stage while Mallesh Kallatti has created stage lighting. M. Ganesh and Subramanya Mysuru have scored music for the play.

On Sunday (Dec. 10), senior Rangayana artistes will stage the play ‘Shikari’ as part of the weekend show. The play is directed by renowned actor and director Prakash Belawadi. H.K. Dwarkanath has designed the set while K.J. Pawan has composed music. Costumes designed by Sankeerthi Ipanjiguli and Mahesh Kallatti has designed the lights.
