Weekly stir for Guest lecturers continues

Mysore/Mysuru: Continuing their weekly protest seeking fulfilment of their various demands, Guest Lecturers, under the banner of Government First Grade Colleges Guest Lecturers State Co-ordination Committee’s District Committee, staged a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) office here on Tuesday.

From the past eight weeks (every Tuesday), protesting Guest Lecturers have been alleging that they are not paid wages for the lockdown period and urged the Government to fulfil their long-pending demands including to consider lockdown period as service period and pay wages for the same, to take back the order regarding appointments of Assistant Professors and appoint guest lectures on permanent basis, provide facilities such as Provident Fund (PF), medical, compensation of Rs. 10 lakh each to the families of those Guest Lecturers who had committed suicide etc.

District Committee President K. Mahadevaiah, Vice-Presidents T. Balasubramanyam and Nagarjun, General Secretary Hanumantesh, Joint Secretaries P. Satish and C.K. Kiran Kaushik, Treasurer Ningaraju, Joint Treasurer Poornima and others took part in the protest.
