Siachen for Lt. Gen. B.C. Nanda was not just another Himalayan Army post, but he shaped it like a new-born baby. For his contribution to India’s military might, Lt. Gen. Nanda was honoured with Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM) and Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM). He visited Siachen every month along with his wife to mingle with the soldiers.
