I will adopt Boudha Deekshe: Prasad

State BJP Vice-President V. Sreenivasa Prasad is seen addressing at a function organised by Mahabodi Maitri Mandala at Mahabodi Carla Students Home in Saraswathipuram here recently.

Mysuru: Declaring that he will adopt ‘Boudha Deekshe’ in order to spread Buddha and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s thoughts, former Minister and State BJP Vice-President V. Sreenivasa Prasad said that he would do his best for creating awareness among the oppressed classes on the preaching of great Saints.

He was speaking at the public function organised by Mahabodi Maitri Mandala at Mahabodi Carla Students Home in Saraswathipuram here recently.

Maintaining that Buddhism formed the basis for a civil society, Prasad opined that India would have become the world’s biggest Buddhist nation had it adopted Buddha’s thoughts.

Noting that most of the Asian countries have been following Buddha’s principles and thoughts, Prasad regretted that our younger generation had failed in advocating Buddha’s preaching.

Stating that as Revenue Minister earlier, he had allotted 44 acre land at Himmavu to establish Ambedkar Centre and Buddha Institution, he expressed disappointment over the Government not pursuing his initiative.

Bhante Bodidatta, Secretary of the proposed Nalanda Buddhist University at Chamarajanagar, too spoke on the occasion. SJCE faculty Prof. A. Thyagaraj Murthy was also present.
