Bengaluru: United Karnataka Chess Association (UKCA) had successfully organised a State-level ONLINE Youth and Cadet Chess Championships from June 3 to 12.
More than 1,400 players across the State participated in this mega event. The closing ceremony was conducted on June 13. Top two players from each category will represent Karnataka.

U-18 Open Category: Arhan Chethan Anand – 1st; Arnav Murulidhar – 2nd; Girls Section: Shriya Revankar – 1st; Sanjana Raghunath – 2nd.
U-16 Open: Pankaj Bhat – 1st and Sujan Bharadwaj – 2nd; Girls: Sanjana Raghunath – 1st; Ananya Arumbakkam – 2nd.
U-14 Open: Arhan Chethan Anand – 1st; Pragy Narayan – 2nd; Girls: Sanikommu Manasvi – 1st and KGR Anagha – 2nd.
U-12 Open: Sathvik Adiga – 1st; Chinmay Koushik – 2nd; Girls: Akshya Sathi – 1st; Rudra Rajeev – 2nd.
U-10 Open: Chinmay Koushik – 1st; Adviat Prabhuraj – 2nd; Girls: Siddhi Rao – 1st; P. Anandhi – 2nd.
Grand Masters Thejkumar and G.A. Stany and International Masters B.S. Shivananda and Viyani D’cunha appreciated the patience of parents as well as players in adapting to this new platform of online tournament at tornelo. They also advised players to analyse the situation on and off the board and wished them to play well in the upcoming National Championships.
State Chess Secretary Aravind Shastry thanked all chief arbiters Vasanth, Saleem Beig, M. Manjunath and Promod Moree and Assistant Arbiters for their unending hardwork for success of the Championships.
