VTU Inter-Collegiate Mysuru Zone Basketball Men’s Championships 2022-23 was organised by the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru, on Nov. 28 at NIE Diamond Jubilee Indoor Sports Complex. The Championships was inaugurated by C.G. Nagaraju, retd. Principal, DMS&RIE, Mysuru, Dr. Rohini Nagapadma, Principal, NIE and Dr. Vidya Raj, Head, Department of CSE.

C.G. Nagaraju stressed the need for fair play and Dr. Rohini Nagapadma impressed upon participants to indulge more in sports to keep fit and release stress of academics.

RESULTS

Final: NIE, Mysuru beat PESCE, Mandya 48-39.

Semi-finals (Last 4 stages): PESCE, Mandya beat VVCE, Mysuru 40-28; NIE beat CIT, Ponnampet 45-21.

Quarter-finals (Last 8 stages): PESCE, Mandya beat NIEIT 22-06; VVCE, Mysuru beat MIT, Tandavapura 35-16; NIE, Mysuru beat MIT, Mysuru 30-15; CIT, Ponnampet beat VVIET, Mysuru 24-22.
