Mysuru: City artist L. Yogananda’s art work titled ‘Arjuna Na Nenapu’ was awarded best artwork in the Professional category of the State-level Dasara Art Exhibition organised by Dasara Fine Arts and Handicrafts Sub-Committee at Chamarajendra Government College of Visual Arts (CAVA) in Siddarthanagar in the month of October.
The award was presented by noted sculptor Arun Yogiraj in the presence of MLA Tanveer Sait at the valedictory of the Art Expo.
Speaking about the work, the artist said, “I am also a swimmer now and hence, in the award-winning painting, I’m showing Mysuru underwater where Arjuna is swimming and recalling his days as a Golden Howdah carrier Dasara elephant as Mysuru prepares for Nada Habba-2024 with the Jumbo team passing through Chamaraja Circle.”
Yogananda is the son of C. Lakshmaiah and Manjula, residents of Ganesh Nagar in N.R. Mohalla, Mysuru.
