Woman among two arrested for robbery in houses and fairs

Hunsur: Hunsur Police have arrested two persons including a woman on charges of committing burglaries at houses and robbing people during fairs (Jathra) and have recovered 300 grams gold ornaments and 1.250 kg silver articles from them.

The arrested are Nagaraju of Kushalnagar and Adiyamma of Hosur in Tamil Nadu.

On Jan. 22, a house near Niluvagilu Cross on B.M. Road in the town was burgled in broad daylight and a case was registered at Hunsur Police Station. The Cops, who began their investigation,  found Nagaraju and Adiyamma moving around in the town in a suspicious manner and took them into custody for questioning.

During interrogation, accused Nagaraju is said to have told the Police that he along with his mother-in-law Adiyamma had committed house burglaries at Maruthi and Manjunatha Layouts in the town and had committed robberies at jathras.

Following their arrest, the Police have solved five cases in Hunsur Police Station, two cases each in Saragur and Periyapatna Police Stations and one case in K.R. Nagar Police Station. The accused were produced before a Court, which remanded them to judicial custody. 

Hunsur Circle Inspector C.V. Ravi, Sub-Inspector D.K. Latesh Kumar, ASI Lakshmamma and staff Puttanayaka, Prabhakar, Prasad, Irfan, Bharatesh, Netravathi and Vidyashri took part in the nabbing and seizing operation.
