Mysuru: A 35-year-old housewife committed suicide by hanging self in front of her drunk husband at her house in Rajarajeshwari Nagar in city on Saturday night.
The deceased has been identified as Sowmya, while her husband is Sripathi.
Sripathi, who had come home heavily drunk, fought with Sowmya leading to her taking the extreme step. Sowmya and Sripathi were married for eight years and Sripathi, who was addicted to liquor, had sold his properties. There used to be frequent quarrel between the two.
On Saturday evening, Sripathi came home drunk which led to a quarrel between them. Fed up with him, Sowmya committed suicide in front of her husband, who was unable to get up and save her, according to Police.
Saraswathipuram Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
