Chamarajanagar: A woman, who was admitted to Cheluvamba Hospital in Mysuru for delivery, has died within few hours after delivering a baby boy yesterday morning.

The deceased is Neelamma (36), wife of LIC representative Mahadevaswamy of Bendaravadi Mallaiahanapura village in the taluk. 

Neelamma was working as a Hindi teacher at MCS School in Somwarpet in Chamarajanagar.

Daughter of Shivamallappa of Ramasamudra, Neelamma was given in marriage to Mahadevaswamy and the couple has a three-year-old son.

Neelamma was admitted to Cheluvamba Hospital in Mysuru for her second delivery.

On Sunday at about 11 pm, Neelamma delivered the baby through caesarean section and the baby was healthy.

As Neelamma was suffering from deficiency of White Blood Cells (WBC), she was being treated at the hospital and the doctors at about 2.45 am, informed the family members that Neelamma has died of heart attack. The body of Neelamma was taken to her husband’s house at Mallaiahanapura, where her colleagues, students, friends and relatives paid their last respects. Last rites were held in the evening at Mallaiahanapura village yesterday.
