Mysore/Mysuru: A 26-year-old woman, depressed over alleged dowry harassment, committed suicide by hanging self at her house in Hebbal on Saturday night.
The deceased woman is Amulya, wife of Anish. A native of Kumbarakoppal, Amulya had married Kerala-based Anish five years ago and were staying in a rented house at Hebbal. Anish had recently gone to Saudi Arabia for work. It is learnt that Amulya and Anish had a wordy duel over the phone on Saturday night and Amulya had told Anish that she would end her life.
Following Amulya’s threat of ending her life, Anish immediately called Hebbal Police and informed that his wife had threatened of committing suicide.
Though Hebbal Police rushed to the house, Amulya had committed suicide by hanging self. Meanwhile, Amulya’s parents, accusing Anish of dowry harassment, have lodged a complaint.
A case has been registered at Hebbal Police Station.
