Hubby gets married again illegally; Cops register case
Mysore/Mysuru: A case has been registered against a man and his family members for allegedly harassing his wife for not getting a house and a car as dowry and also for not delivering a baby boy.
The woman, who has lodged a complaint against her husband and his family members is 34-year-old R.S. Kusuma, a Senior Engineer at Karnataka Housing Board, Chamarajanagar. She has lodged a complaint against her husband C.M. Narasimhaiah, Junior Engineer at KEB in Kadakola, his mother Bundamma, his sister Mangala and Mangala’s husband Manju.
According to the complaint, Kusuma was given in marriage to Narasimhaiah of Chikkakereyuru in H.D. Kote taluk on Dec. 9, 2016 during which the latter was given 20 grams gold ornaments, Rs. 10,000 worth silver articles, Rs. 25,000 cash for clothes and Rs. 15 lakh cash for wedding expenses .
At the time of marriage, the accused demanded a site from Kusuma’s father who was a mechanic at KEB in Nanjangud.Her father had told him that he would be retiring from service in two years and he would fulfil the demand from the retirement benefits.
Kusuma and Narasimhaiah, later took a house in Nanjangud as it would be easy for them to go to work and the couple were leading a happy life initially.
On Sept. 28, 2017, Kusuma delivered a baby girl following which her husband’s family members began to harass her mentally and physically for not giving birth to a baby boy, the complaint stated.
Later, Kusuma purchased a house in Nanjangud from her savings and was staying there. Narasimhaiah and his family members who came to the house reportedly threatened her by saying that they would get Narasimhaiah married if she did not get a house in Mysuru and a car, the complaint stated and added that Narasimhaiah took a house on rent in Mysuru and used to visit her house once or twice in a week.
Recently, Kusuma came to know from a relative that her husband had a second marriage illegally.
Seeking legal action against her husband and his family members, Kusuma lodged a Police complaint and also submitted the documents pertaining to both the marriages at the District Women’s Police Station. The Police are investigating the case.
