Woman found murdered at city lodge; lover arrested

Mysuru: Lashkar Police have arrested a youth from Kalaburagi, who had allegedly murdered his lover at a lodge in Halladakeri and had gone absconding.

The deceased is Eramma (31) of RTPS Colony at Devasuguru in Raichur district while the accused is 28-year-old Siddarama of Hebbal in Kalaburagi.

According to the complaint filed by the lodge Manager, Siddarama and Eramma came to the lodge on Oct. 7 at about 4.20 pm and asked for a room and the Manager, after collecting the Aadhaar cards of both, gave them the keys of Room No. 102.

The complaint further states that on Oct. 8, Siddarama complained that the room does not have proper ventilation and lacks fresh air.

He then requested for another room following which he was given Room No. 104 at about 4.30 pm. Siddarama and Eramma went out for dinner and came back to the room at about 9 pm.

The Manager further states in the complaint that on Oct. 9, he or the lodge staff, did not notice Siddarama and Eramma coming out of the room and assumed that they had gone out.

As the duo had not vacated the room on Oct. 10 and the rent payment was pending, the Manager went to the room at about 2 pm and knocked on the door.

As no one replied from inside and foul smell was emanating from the room, the Manager peeped through the window to find Eramma lying on the bed with her face covered with the bed sheet and blood stains on the bed.

The Manager then called Siddarama over the phone only to receive the message that the phone was switched off following which he informed the lodge owner and lodged a complaint at the jurisdictional Police Station.

Based on the complaint, Lashkar Police, who registered a case in this regard, arrested accused Siddarama, who has been remanded to Judicial Custody.
