Woman killed as bike hits scooter

Mysuru:  A 26-year-old woman, who had sustained serious injuries when a bike hit the scooter she was riding, succumbed to injuries at K.R. Hospital in city.

The deceased is Abhilasha, an employee of a private firm and a resident of Shadanahalli in city.

On Feb. 19 night, Abhilasha was returning home on her scooter and when she took a right turn to head towards Chamundeshwari Layout, opposite to J.K. Tyre, three persons, riding triple on a Royal Enfield bike, who came on KRS Road, rammed into the scooter. Meanwhile, public who were present at the spot, caught hold of the riders and began to assault, resulting in the riders fleeing from the spot leaving behind the bike. The public then summoned an ambulance and shifted the seriously injured Abhilasha to K.R. Hospital, where she succumbed to injuries.

V.V. Puram Traffic Police, who have registered a case, took bike riders Premkumar, Sujith and another person into custody and are investigating.
