Woman killed as Bolero vehicle hits moped

She was on her way to attend cradle ceremony when the mishap took place

T. Narasipur: A woman, who was on her way to attend the cradle ceremony of her relative’s baby along with her brother was killed, when a Bolero vehicle hit the moped near Bannahalli Hundi village in the taluk on Sunday.

While the deceased has been identified as Shailaja (39), her brother, who sustained minor injuries, is Kumaraswamy, residents of Sujjaluru village in the taluk.

On Sunday, Kumaraswamy and his sister were proceeding on their TVS Excel moped to attend the cradle ceremony of their relative’s baby being held at Konagalli village in the taluk, when a speeding Bolero vehicle, coming from T. Narasipur side hit the moped. This resulted in Kumaraswamy sustaining minor injuries and Shailaja sustaining serious injuries which rendered her unconscious.

She was immediately rushed to T. Narasipur Government Hospital, where she was provided first-aid and was later admitted to K.R. Hospital in Mysuru, where she succumbed to injuries on Sunday night.

Based on the complaint from Kumaraswamy, T. Narasipur Town Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Prabhakar, who has registered a case, is investigating.
