Woman killed as KSRTC bus hits

Nanjangud: A 75-year-old woman was killed when a KSRTC bus hit her when she was crossing the Chamarajanagar Bypass Road yesterday morning.

The deceased is Parvathamma, wife of Annaiah and a resident of Medar Street in the town.

Yesterday at about 6 am, Parvathamma was crossing the road when the KSRTC bus, which came from Chamarajanagar side, hit her resulting in Parvathamma sustaining serious injuries and breathing her last on the spot.

Nanjangud Traffic Sub-Inspector Siddaraju and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case and shifted the body to Nanjangud General Hospital, where post-mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the family members.

The Police, who have seized the KSRTC bus, have taken the driver into their custody.
