Srirangapatna: A woman was killed on the spot, when a sugarcane-laden lorry hit her scooter from behind and ran over her head near the check-post on Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway last night. The deceased has been identified as Jyothi (37), a resident of Varakodu village, Varuna hobli in Mysuru. Jyothi was proceeding on her scooter from Srirangapatna to Mysuru, when the sugarcane-laded lorry (TN-57 R-5989) hit her scooter from behind and ran over her head, killing Jyothi on the spot. The face of Jyothi is beyond recognition.
Srirangapatna Police, who rushed to the spot, registered a case and shifted the body to Srirangapatna General Hospital.
