Woman killed as bus rams into tipper

Mysuru: In a tragic incident, a woman was killed and many others were injured, when the bus in which they were travelling rammed into a stationed tipper on the Ring Road here yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as Usha (60), a resident of Kengeri in Bengaluru, who was part of a 40-member group which had come to city in a private bus to attend a marriage.

The group of people, after attending the marriage ceremony, was on its way to Bengaluru from KRS Road towards Columbia Asia Hospital on the Ring Road in the evening, when the bus rammed into a tipper, which had stopped following a snag, resulting in Usha suffering serious injuries.

Though she was rushed to Columbia Asia Hospital, she breathed her last after failing to respond to the treatment, according to V.V. Puram Traffic Police.

Other injured persons have been admitted to K.R. Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.

V.V. Puram Traffic Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
