Mandya: A 55 year old woman was killed and her husband was injured when the wall of the house she was residing collapsed on her on account of heavy rains at Mahadevapura Bore village in Srirangapatna taluk late on Monday night.
The deceased has been identified as Lakshmamma (55), while her husband Somachari is being treated at K.R. Hospital in Mysuru.
Lakshmamma and Somachari were sleeping in their house at about 10.45 pm on Monday night, when a wall collapsed and fell on them. They were rushed to K.R. Hospital, where Lakshmamma breathed her last a few hours later. Newly elected Srirangapatna MLA Ravindra Srikantaiah visited the village and consoled the family.
