Supriya, who had come to her relative’s house at Hebbal, boarded a KSRTC bus to City Bus Stand on July 12 at about 4.15 pm, carrying a vanity bag containing the jewels. After alighting from the bus at City Bus Stand, Supriya went to the adjacent Rural Bus Stand to catch a bus to Dandikere. When the bus arrived at 5 pm, there was a huge rush of passengers to board the bus following which she gave the vanity bag to a stranger inside the bus to reserve a seat for her while carrying another vanity bag containing jewels herself.
