Woman passes away after giving birth to healthy twins

November 16, 2024

Mysuru: A heart-wrenching incident occurred in Mysuru where a woman passed away after giving birth to twins. Hemavathi (35), wife of Shivarudrappa from Ahalya village in Nanjangud, gave birth to a boy and a girl at a private hospital in Mysuru on Friday and then breathed her last.

Hemavathi, who was admitted to the hospital due to labour pain, underwent a Caesarean section. However, fate did not grant her the opportunity to cradle her newborns and experience the joy of motherhood. Reports indicate that the babies are currently healthy.

The news of Hemavathi’s death after childbirth struck her family and relatives like a thunderbolt, leaving them devastated. They tearfully imagined how lovingly she would have cared for her precious children had she survived. The mourning family, including her husband Shivarudrappa, father-in-law Shivappa, father Eshwarappa from Hinkal, and her brothers, were inconsolable. Hemavathi’s last rites are scheduled to be conducted today in Ahalya village.
