Woman succumbs to injuries

Mysore/Mysuru: A 38-year-old woman, who had reportedly inflicted injuries on her neck with a knife on Jan. 4 and admitted to K.R. Hospital, has succumbed to injuries at the hospital on Jan. 4 midnight.

The deceased is Yasmin, wife of Yousuf and a resident of Hootagalli in city. It is learnt that Yasmin had admitted her daughter at Cheluvamba Hospital following illness and on Jan. 4 at about 6 pm, she is said to have gone to the bathroom in the hospital ward where she is said to have stabbed herself on the neck with a knife.

The hospital staff, who noticed Yasmin lying in a pool of blood, rushed her to K.R. Hospital, where she breathed her last at midnight.

Post-mortem was conducted at Mysore Medical College And Research Institute (MMC&RI) mortuary this morning  and the body was handed over to the family members, according  to Police.

Devaraja Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
