T. Narasipur: In a shocking incident, a woman is said to have thrown her 15-day-old female infant to a river in T. Narasipur taluk yesterday out of frustration for having given birth   to a girl child.

Prabhavathi, an Anganawadi helper at Maaranapura village in the taluk, who was being harassed by her husband for giving birth to a baby girl, is reported to have killed the infant by throwing her into the river, it is learnt.
