Woman’s body found near Bannur Road

Mysuru: Alanahalli Police have found the body of a woman, suspected to have been murder, near Vidya Vikas Engineering College on Bannur Road in city this morning.

The deceased has been identified as Latha (25), daughter of Lakshman, a resident of Giriyabhovi Palya in city and was working at the Government Adoption Centre here.

Alanahalli Inspector Swarna and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary besides registering a case.

Police suspect that the woman may have been murdered somewhere else and the body dumped near Bannur Road as there were no marks of struggle, external injuries and her slippers were found intact on her feet.

It is also suspected that the woman may have been strangled to death with her veil as it was found tied around her neck.

Alanahalli Police have registered a case and are investigating.
