Woman’s gold chain snatched at bus stop

Mysuru/Mysore: Bike borne miscreants, in the pretext of seeking an address, have snatched the gold chain from a woman, who was waiting for a bus at a bus shelter in Srinagar at the outskirts of city last evening.

The woman, who lost her gold chain, is Jayamma, residing in Varuna Police limits. She had come to Srinagar near Nachanahalli Palya to her daughter’s house. After visiting her daughter, Jayamma was standing at the bus shelter along with her granddaughter, when two bike borne miscreants approached her seeking the address of a Paying Guest (PG) accommodation and yanked off her 50-gram gold chain worth Rs. 1.5 lakh and sped away.

Mysuru South Rural Police Sub-Division DySP and staff rushed to the spot and conducted mahazar. Mysuru South Rural Police, who have registered a case, have collected CCTV footages installed at various points and have launched a hunt to nab the miscreants.
