September 14, 2024

Mysuru: A purse containing gold jewellery worth Rs. 4 lakh, which was being carried by a woman passenger in a city bus, has been stolen.

B. Chetana had come to her maternal home in Srirampura from her husband’s place in Chamarajanagar district for Gowri-Ganesha festival. After the festival, she boarded a city bus on Sept. 9 to return to Chamarajanagar.

After alighting the city bus near Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Circle, Chetana began walking to the KSRTC Suburban Bus Stand, when she noticed the zip of her bag opened. She immediately checked her bag, only to find the purse, in which she had kept 70 grams of gold jewellery, worth Rs. 4 lakh, missing from the bag. She later lodged a complaint with the Devaraja Police, who have registered a case.
