Mysuru: A convention of women achievers was organised by an NGO at Platinum Jubilee Hall in JK grounds here recently.
Cultural rally: As part of the programme, hundreds of women took out a folk rally from Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple to the programme venue presenting folk dances in colourful costumes.
Bike rally: Over 30 women and 30 men took out a bike rally from JK Grounds through main thoroughfares of city accompanied by over 15 physically challenged in retro-fitted vehicles and 150 autorickshaws.
Inaugurating the stage programme, former Minister V. Sreenivasa Prasad said that women had achieved success in various fields who now need opportunity and not sympathy.
Speaking on the occasion, District Minister G.T. Devegowda said that social justice should be provided to all in society.
Silent Expedition, Bengaluru, Founder Archana Thimmaraju and International Sportsperson Dhanusha Gowda were felicitated on the occasion.
Writers Prof. Kalegowda Nagavara, Prof. C. Sarvamangala, Advocate D.C. Srinivas, Corporator Shobha Mohan and others were present.
